“Jesus came to seek and to save that which was lost.” Luke 19:10. Matter of fact,
He would leave the flock of ninety nine just to save the one. If you have ever
committed even one sin, He came to seek and to save you…to offer you a means
of forgiveness for all of those things that keep you separated from a Holy God.
No matter how good a person you try and be or how many good deeds you try
and perform you will always come up short. Because, God is not looking for good
enough. God is looking for perfect. The penalty for sin is death and hell. Jesus
provided the only means of having our sin slate wiped clean, restoring us to a
right relationship with God the Father. He willingly paid the price for your sin
debt with His perfect, sinless life. Had you been the only one to ever commit a
sin, He’d have come just for you. However, this means of forgiveness is a gift that
must be acknowledged and accepted by each individual. “The Lord does not delay
His promise, as some understand delay, but is patient with you, not wanting any to
perish but for all to come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9.
