I think of myself as fun and loving with my grands but pretty strict with my rules, standards and requirements. I try and mentor/coach them on life issues, manners and teach them how to love and serve others by example. I also make it a point to try and align what I say with their parents wishes so we can be a united front.
Recently we asked Ameenah, “What is the definition of Grammy? I was hoping for Grammy gives great hugs. Grammy is my cheerleader. Grammy teaches me important things. Grammy makes me laugh. Grammy takes me on Grammy Days. Grammy is always fun. Grammy loves me no matter what. You know… something on that order.
You can imagine how stunned I was with this response!
